Lately I’ve been putting my shopping pennies (ok dollars) toward the garden, since my closet (and dressers, and hall closet) are full to bursting of unweeded clothes…


Love these outdoor rugs woven from recycled plastics, at about $50. Perfect to cover my front porch, which is strangely covered with some kind of evil fiberglass matting. We learned the hard way last summer – short-shorts + porch sitting = sad attempts to yank the fibers out using packing tape!

I also visited the lovely Sprout Home shop in my neighborhood, which offers all manner of planters and plants from tiny air sprigs to saplings, for reasonable prices ($5-$85). So needed in concrete Brooklyn. I took home a cheerful marigold and a geranium with lemon-scented leaves.
